It's that time again! We are so excited and grateful to host the gentlemen of RECLAIM PROJECT once again and serve them a home-cooked, Thanksgiving meal.
Last year was so much fun and we saw God work in amazing ways!! He used so many individuals and families from around the city and the country even to provide for these guys, people like you so THANK YOU!
Each man comes to RECLAIM with their own story of addiction, incarceration, recent homelessness or, in many cases, all of the above. These men have committed themselves to sober living as they pursue healing through work, biblical discipleship, classes, recovery groups, and community within the sober-living houses that RECLAIM PROJECT owns/rents around Spokane.
These guys work hard and we feel so grateful that we can kick off their Healthy Holidays program and serve them a home-cooked feast!
We will be feeding about 80 men a sit- down, family-style meal experience, BUT WE NEED YOUR HELP! As you can imagine, this requires a lot of separate dishes, so HERE'S THE ASK:
As you go about cooking your own Thanksgiving meals, would you prayerfully consider cooking or purchasing one extra dish to be delivered to us and then shared with these men???????
Since we have outgrown our space from last year, True Hope Church is graciously allowing us to use their building to host this feast! It's a huge answer to prayer!
All you have to do is bring your PREPARED food or beverage items to True Hope Church between 2:30-4:30 pm on *WEDNESDAY*, November 23rd, and we will be there to meet you. We store everything there over night and then, ON THANKSGIVING DAY, we warm it all back up and get it ready to go out onto the tables. The beauty of this is that the men get to sit down and help themselves to whatever they want while watching football and gathering with their RECLAIM brothers.
For those of us who have grown up doing this, we may take it for granted, but for some of these guys it's the first time they've ever had a family-style Thanksgiving meal. For many more, it's just been a very long time.
SO LET'S MAKE IT AWESOME!
If it's difficult to bring the items to us on Wednesday, please reach out to me(Ally)or Kati and we will do our best to accommodate you.
****You can also deliver your hot dish to us on Thanksgiving Day no later than 11:30 am. Just let us know. :)
Finally, if you and your family are interested in serving alongside us on Thanksgiving, there will be different opportunities throughout the day, so please consider that as well.
