Dear Friends,

Thank you for joining Mile End Chavurah for Rosh Hashanah!

We kindly ask that each person over 18 in your household contribute a dish or item to the potluck.

Please LABEL each dish with ingredients for allergies - especially nuts.
Please bring each dish ready to serve (bring serving bowl, serving spoon, etc. ).
Please do not bring soup, or anything which needs to be heated or frozen (eg ice cream).
Please bring your own wine.
Some helpful hints:
Please cook your favourite recipes, especially those that were served at your family Rosh Hashanah dinners in the past.

Here are some suggestions for each category:

Fish for 6-8
- baked fish fillets
- gefilte fish (with horseradish!!)
- breaded baked fish fillets
- cold poached fish
- pickled or smoked fish
- sushi!
- PLEASE DO NOT BRING LOX (smoked salmon)

Vegetarian main dish for 6-8:
Please make sure this is a main course and not a side dish:
- frittata (egg-based dish)
- vegetable or tofu casserole or bake (eggplant parmesan)
- lasagna
- baked tofu
- spanakopita

Starch side for 10:
- potato knishes
- kugel
- cheese platter
- roasted root vegetable medley
- Please don't bring bread products. We will have plenty of challah at each table. Merci!
Vegetable side dishes for 10:
- carrot tzimmes
- steamed or stir-fried anything (broccoli, carrots, zucchini, etc)
- grated beet, carrot, cabbage salad
- any sort of salad
- roasted root vegetables

Dessert for 10
- honey cake
- a homemade cake or pie
- cookies
- fresh fruit (cut up please!)
- chocolate covered nuts
- dried fruit & nuts
- any type chocolate

Drinks for 12
You can bring juice, club soda, soda, bubbly water, ice tea, etc.
Please do not to bring bottled water; there will be pitchers of Montreal's best tap water available.
