Easy Sesame Chicken with Free Printable!
There is nothing I love more than a delicious and easy meal that my entire family enjoys and is simple to prepare. Today I am sharing one of my new favorite recipes that comes together in as little as half an hour, utilizes healthy ingredients, and would be the perfect recipe to double up to feed your family and another. I'm also sharing an easy way to transport this meal and a means to share the recipe! Our recipe section has a generous collection of tried and tested recipes we've put together over the years that also travel well. I use many of these recipes for my family, and a few days ago, I decided to try Sesame Chicken with steamed broccoli and rice.
Here's what I love most about this recipe:
  • It was delicious, and my whole family enjoyed it!
  • It was high in lean protein and bursting with flavor. I added extra garlic!
  • It was affordable! I spent under $30 preparing this meal!

Easy Sesame Chicken with Free Printable!

Serves 4
Adapted from Mommy, I'm Hungry
Ingredients:
  • 3 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 2 Tablespoons gluten-free Tamari Sauce or Soy Sauce (San-J Soy Sauce is gluten-free, and here is a helpful link with some other suggestions. Read labels very carefully)
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 1/2 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1/2 chunks
  • 2 Tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 scallions, thinly sliced (pro tip: scallions and green onions are the exact same thing, just different names)
Directions:
In a small bowl, combine honey, sesame seeds, soy sauce, and garlic. Set aside.
In a large bowl, combine egg whites and cornstarch. Add chicken. Season with salt and pepper and toss to coat.
In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook until golden, about 6-8 minutes per side. Add reserved sauce and scallions. Serve with jasmine rice and steamed broccoli. Click here to make perfect steamed rice every time.
To make this meal complete, you can make a dessert, like Adina's favorite brownie recipe, or keep things simple by selecting a bag of cookies like the ones in the image above. These brownie crisp cookie thins also look delicious! I loved that they did not contain any artificial colors, synthetic colors, or preservatives.
Ways to transport this meal:
The Take Them a Meal insulated carrier is perfect for transporting this meal. I used 3 aluminum bread pans to separate the cooked chicken, rice, and broccoli. They fit perfectly in the carrier.

So my recipient has an opportunity to make this meal again, I created this FREE adorable recipe card to leave with the meal. It's 4x6, so it should fit most recipe boxes. When you select this card to print, simply download and save it to your computer. When printing, be sure you've selected color ink, landscape mode, and then the designated 4x6 size. I used cardstock, so mine was a little sturdier. For labeling instructions, we also love this printable label.
