Ways Your Church Can Do Even More with Take Them A Meal + Perfect Potluck
Send a Thanksgiving Meal to a Loved One
This Thanksgiving, you can send one of our comforting holiday meals (serving 3-4 or 5-6) to a loved one who could use a little extra care. Each meal is made with love and ships frozen, ready to heat and enjoy, making it easy to share comfort across the miles. ~ Adina
When we first created Take Them A Meal, it started as a simple way to care for a young mom (and dear friend) in our own church who was suddenly hospitalized. Coordinating who was bringing what meal quickly became confusing, so we built a website to help our church family stay organized. What began as a solution for our friend, Rachel, soon grew into a tool used by churches everywhere to share love and support through food.
Today, thousands of churches use Take Them A Meal and Perfect Potluck to care for their congregations, but many are still discovering all the ways these tools can serve their ministries. Whether it's providing meals for families welcoming a new baby, walking alongside someone who is ill, or planning a church-wide fellowship dinner, these simple sites can help you care for your own church community.
With Take Them A Meal, anyone in your church can quickly create a meal schedule to ensure families receive weeks of meals without overlap or confusion. It's easy to share the schedule link in church bulletins, small group texts, or Sunday announcements. Some churches even set up a permanent coordinator role or care team that uses Take Them A Meal throughout the year.
If your church has a kitchen, it's the perfect place to host a freezer meal workshop. That way, there are easy meals to grab from the church freezer or your home freezer when someone would be blessed by a last minute meal.
Meanwhile, Perfect Potluck helps churches organize group meals and gatherings with ease. From Sunday luncheons to small group dinners or holiday events, Perfect Potluck ensures every dish is covered and everyone feels part of the fellowship. You can even note dietary preferences, quantities, and special requests to make your event welcoming for all.
Another helpful way Perfect Potluck can be used is in planning last-minute memorial service meals. Friends and family often want to assist the bereaved in practical ways during this difficult time. Perfect Potluck provides the opportunity for church members to prepare a meal for family and friends following the service.
Our church has also found Perfect Potluck to be helpful when preparing care packages for college students and those in need. Everyone is invited to sign up for an item (snacks, stress balls, tea bags) and then on a certain day, our youth group meets up to pack boxes that will eventually be sent home with our college students. We use a similar model to create care packages full of necessities for people who stop by the church building asking for physical support.
When used together, Take Them A Meal and Perfect Potluck make it simple for your church to provide care in practical and joyful ways. We're always happy to answer any questions you might have about how either site can support your church.
I'd love to hear more about how your church uses Take Them A Meal and Perfect Potluck. I enjoy reading each reply to our newsletter! ~Adina
