Notes from Lynn Mitchell . . . 2pm on Thanksgiving Day WHAT MAKES A PERFECT POTLUCK??? PLENTY OF FOOD! -- families of four or less = 1 SIDE + 1 PIE -- families of five or more = 2 SIDES + 1 PIE SIDE DISHES: -- should be basic casserole size; a typical 9x13 dish BOARD GAMES: -- bring a variety of boards games to play after the meal! LEFTOVERS: -- bring your own containers for leftovers CLEAN-UP: -- many hands make for light work! Extra help to reset the church would be appreciated! -- please grab a bag of trash on your way out! EXTRAS: -- extras are IN ADDITION to your side dishes, just bring enough to share. SUGGESTIONS: * vanilla ice cream / whipped cream for pie * cranberry sauce * rolls or cornbread * gravy / butter FOOD SAFETY: -- all dishes must be cooked thoroughly before arrival -- please keep hot food hot and cold food cold until serving time HOUSEHOLDS: -- at the very bottom of the page where it's marked "HOUSEHOLDS", enter your family name. -- a field marked as "WHAT I'LL BRING" will pop up. Enter how many people from your household will be attending. An example is shown on line one as, "The Mitchells, 2 people". -- you're welcome to invite a friend, family member, neighbor or co-worker, but separate households should sign up on their own, that way there's no shortage of side dishes. |
