Notes from Ann-Marie Willacker . . . It's that time of year again — Festivus for the rest of us! Join us for a lighthearted community dinner where we gather around the Festivus Pole, share food, laughter, and yes — air a few grievances (all in good fun). Bring a dish to share, your chosen family, and your best Festivus spirit as we celebrate the season our own way. What to expect The Festivus Pole: Simple, unadorned, and proudly displayed. Airing of the Grievances: Got a bone to pick with 2025? A mild annoyance? Something deeply petty yet emotionally satisfying to say out loud? This is your moment. Festivus demands honesty — and we'll provide the mic. Feats of Strength: Lighthearted games and friendly challenges to end the night with some laughs. Community Potluck: Everyone brings a dish or treat to share. Store-bought or homemade — it's all welcome. Dirty Santa Gift Exchange – Bring a wrapped gift (limit $15) and jump into the fun of swapping, stealing, and strategizing for the best loot. Optional — but way more fun if you play. We'll provide Plates, utensils, napkins, and beverages Space for warming dishes A little Festivus flair and a lot of good company What to bring Party-Style Food – We're keeping it simple and social: bring a favorite party-ready finger food, appetizer, or snack to share. Think charcuterie, dips, cookies, pigs--in-a-blanket — anything bite-sized and festive. Not required, but always appreciated! Your sense of humor and community spirit Optional: festive attire or ugly sweater Come as you are. Stay for the laughter, the community, and the most wonderfully nonsensical holiday of them all. Open to all — LGBTQ+ folks, allies, and lovers of weird traditions. |
